Treasure Hunting is a series of four books in Fable II which improve the dog's ability to detect dig spots. The books may be purchased from Fiction Burns in Bowerstone Market, received as gifts from other characters, or paradoxically, found in dig spots.
Improving your dog's treasure hunting ability will generally increase the value of treasures discovered in dig spots, as well as detecting treasure in less-obvious chests.
Treasure Hunting Book 2 can be found in Bower Lake in a dig spot near the small lake with a dock. Not the one with the boat. It is in the rocks to the right. It can also be found in Fiction Burns but just after you have reached Oakfield.
Treasure Hunting Book 3 can only be found in Fiction Burns but it will only be available after you have acquired 50,000 experience.
Treasure Hunting Book 4 can be found in Bower Lake in a dig spot near the stone bridge.
Note: The dog can only find Treasure Hunting Books if it has been trained with the previous Treasure Hunting Book. It is possible to train your dog with a higher level book before finding the previous ones, however, this will have no effect on your pet until you train it with the missing books. For example: If you train your dog with a Treasure Hunting Book 1 and Treasure Hunting Book 3, it will only be able to find level 1 dig spots. Once trained with Treasure Hunting Book 2 as well, it will then be able to locate level 3 dig spots since it was previously trained with the level 3 book.
