"Calm, imposing, and dignified, the Colonel is the gentleman of the course. If there were a door on the track he would open it for the ladies, and if he wore a garment with sleeves, he would not wipe his nose on them, if he had a nose."
— Horace

The Colonel is one of the five chickens able to be betted on in A Day at the (Chicken) Races in Fable III. He is described as the "ladies chicken," and will almost never win. He mostly has a great speed increase near the end of the race, but cannot compensate for his slow start.

Odds 200:1

If you bet 10,000 coins on 'The Colonel' and he wins, you will win a large amount of coins equalling up to 2,000,000, which can help with future purchases of Weapons or Real Estate. But, betting on this hero of a chicken is almost a waste as he barely ever wins, which can be proved by the blackboards next to the bookie, which tell you the recent winners. And, you are very lucky if you find him twice on there. Overall, he is there for a gamble. Ironically the races are there to attract you and help you lose money. However, the Colonel will often win one in twenty races, not one in two hundred. For that reason, the Colonel can actually be a worth while bet for a wealthy player, as, if the chicken wins, the player wins 2,000,000 coins for 10,000 coins of betting. This can also be an opportunity to make a large amount of money in a short amount of time, around 10,000,000 coins in an hour or so.

  • His name is most likely a reference to Colonel Sanders, founder and mascot of the "Kentucky Fried Chicken" (KFC) fast food franchise, well known for its many chicken-based foods.
