Temple, the Gravedigger, is a playable hero in Fable Fortune.

In-Game Short Description[]

Temple is living proof that you don't need much to become a Hero. Just the talking, spell slinging skull of your great-great-great grandfather who just so happened to be the most powerful necromancer of his age. And his spellbook.

In-Game Long Description[]

Temple, the gravedigger's daughter, always felt strangely comfortable among the tombstones. So when her father died, taking up the shovel and following in his footsteps was the obvious choice.

Yet her dreams now became haunted by a strange voice from beyond. Never short on courage, she followed the ethereal call to an ancient tomb: the forgotten ancestral crypt of her family, and the last resting place of her great-great-grandfather. Norman the Necromancer. Well-his skull, at least.

Norman agreed to work with Temple on two conditions Firstly, that she Would get him out of this tomb; and secondly, that she would help him to change Albion forever. His evil plan is to reduce it to hellish ruins but. as long as he's strapped to Temple's shovel, the choice is hers…

Temple's Heroic Tale[]

Chapter 1: Family Reunion[]

Temple reseals the crypt and sets out to see what her famous ancestor is really capable of.

‘WE’LL DO GREAT THINGS TOGETHER’, Norman says. ‘TERRIBLE THINGS, YES -BUT GREAT.’

It doesn't take long before they run into the City Watch, who are understandably suspicious of a young girl wandering the streets with a talking skull strapped to her shovel. This could be the perfect opportunity for Norman to demonstrate his powers...

Chapter 2: A Grave Mistake[]

Norman cackles as the City Guard flee in terror. ‘THAT FELT GOOD... BUT I NEED MY GRIMOIRE- THE NORMANOMICON’, he says. 'SOME FOOL STOLE IT FROM MY CRYPT.’

After its theft, the book gained a reputation for creating unfortunate (and very messy) 'accidents’, and was buried with the remains of its last owner. So, Temple arrives at Millfields graveyard- only to find the grave recently emptied, and surrounded by slavering beasts...

Chapter 3: That’s Torn It[]

‘WHERE IS MY BOOK?’ cries Norman, as Temple peers into the empty grave. ‘THEY TOOK IT FROM RIGHT UNDER MY NOSE!..OR, AT LEAST, THEY WOULD HAVE IFI STILL HAD ONE.’

‘Isn't that a page from the Normanomicon?’ says Temple, pointing at a piece of parchment fluttering in the mud. 'And there's another one - and another!' Together, they follow the paper trail through the town, eventually running into a frantic local collector.

‘Hands off' she shrieks. ‘I found them! They're mine!’

Chapter 4: Ooze Laughing Now?[]

Temple gathers the torn pages of the Normanomicon from the ground, but Norman is furious. ‘IT'S NOT ALL HERE’, he grumbles. 'SOMEONE WILL PAY FOR THIS’.

Skimming one of the tattered pages, Norman attempts an incantation to find the culprit. But with half the spell missing. something goes horribly wrong. An odious green cloud descends on the town, and innocent peasants are transformed into hideous (and very angry) mutants! Looks like Temple is going to have to dig her great-great-grandad out of trouble again..

Chapter 5: An Aardnutt To Crack[]

After cleaning up their mess, Temple and Norman leave town only to meet with a stream of fleeing townsfolk. Temple stops one of them to ask where they're going. ‘Didn't you hear?’ they say. 'Some loony necromancer with this big old book got into our graveyard and revived Aardnut the Barbarian! We're all doomed! Run for your lives!’

Without another word, Temple and Norman set off to confront Aardnut, the bloodthirsty warrior - and to finally unveil the mysterious necromancer who dares to rival Norman...

Chapter 6: Norman Left Behind[]

With Aardnut back in his grave, the necromancer who stole the Normanomicon reveals themselves at last. Temple gasps as the fog clears: it's Norman!.. The rest of him, that is.

It seems Norman's headless body has been quite busy in his absence, working on its very own plan to bring Albion to its knees. Now, a showdown is now inevitable to decide who will wield the full power of the Normanomicon...
