I may be wrong but hear's my thought[]
OOPS did it wrong. I always thought that you could get this achievement with just 1 dye pack as you only need to colour 4 items of clothing. Guess I need to create a new profile to test my theory.Garry Damrau 11:00, November 27, 2011 (UTC)
Well since I can't get my older saves to not freeze, I took the time to create 2 new profiles (1 male,1female) to test my theory. I was right. You do not need 5 colours to unlock this achievement. There is no need to colour your hair, and you can do it even with a 5 piece outfit. This achievement can be done quite early in the game, as once you reach the music box you can open Dye Pack I and have the 4 dyes needed. Male heros can buy the Long Full Hairstyle in Brightwall, before you visit Walter at the pub. Note:Once you visit him you can only buy the Mercenary Beard and Right Arm Tattoo there, until you beat Saker. This mistake is probably due to the Brady Games guide being wrong about this achievement and gamers blindly trusting it. (We know how that can mislead people, don't we?)
