Skorm's Bow is a legendary longbow in Fable, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and Fable Anniversary. It was rumoured to have once belonged to the god Skorm; however, the Oracle discredits this argument by dismissing the existence of the gods Skorm and Avo. It is the most powerful ranged weapon available, due to its ability to charge up indefinitely. It has a distinctive blood red plate that covers the wielder's bow hand.

Description[]

Fabled weapon of the Overberg, this Longbow carries dark and terrible secrets that seem to propel arrows with a unique power.

Appearance[]

It is a curved Longbow which is grey with brown and gold attachments, and gold plating at the curved tips of the bow. At the middle of the bow is a dome-like handle with a red orb and matching coloured lines.

Acquiring Skorm's Bow[1][]

Factors[]

  • Be as close to midnight as possible, no matter how good or evil you are.
  • Day of the week (Should be Saturday going into Sunday. Check "Game Days Passed" in Hero menu, Saturdays are day 5, 12, 19, etc)
  • Total health of sacrifice (The mercenary in Bandit Camp specifically is the highest health follower you can obtain legitimately)
  • Current health of sacrifice (If the follower is missing any health at all, the chance of getting the bow drops significantly)
  • Your alignment should be neutral to good. There is no difference in chance based on how good you are, as long as you're in the positive. Being evil at all will reduce your chance. This is based on your TRUE alignment, so your alignment when you have no clothes or tattoos on that affect alignment.
  • Other factors rumoured such as sunrise and sunset for different alignments, clothes making an impact on alignment, any sort of "evil point threshold", etc. have been tested and found to be untrue.

Steps[]

  • Get far enough in the game to get into Twinblade's Camp (or learn how to utilize the summon clipping exploit to get into the map early)
  • Get your true alignment to neutral or higher.
  • Go to the Chapel of Skorm.
  • Teleport to Twinblade's Camp. This creates a recall in your teleport menu to Chapel of Skorm, meaning you do not have to run through Darkwood and risk your mercenary getting injured or dying.
  • Sleep in the bandit bedrolls near the mercenary until daytime when "Game Days Passed" in the Hero menu equals 5, 12, 19, etc. This is daytime Saturday.
  • Sleep once more and immediately hire the mercenary. This sets up a sort of timer for you to know when to sacrifice.
    • For this "timer", you will be looking/listening for the mercenary's "coin drops", "coin drop" meaning that when the mercenary takes gold, the "coin drop" will appear in the lower left corner and play a sound effect of a few coins dropping. This happens every one minute of time spent in game when not in a menu or a load screen. This is different than in game time/hours. These drops are not based around the hours at all, which is why it's essential to sleep and hire the mercenary at essentially the same time. It closely aligns real time minutes with in game hours.
  • Use the recall teleport to the Chapel of Skorm.
  • From this point forward, wait for three "coin drops". This takes you to a few seconds before midnight. Count to four (seconds) after the coin drop, and start the dialogue with the acolyte. Get through this dialogue as fast as possible by pressing escape / your button for skipping cutscenes.
  • You should receive the bow.

If you are concerned that this method might not work, make a safety save as soon as you see the second "coin drop" after you've teleported to the Chapel. Then you just wait one "coin drop" from there, wait the four extra seconds, dialogue, etc.

If you want an easier method, waiting for the "Lights out you 'orrible lot!" line and then sacrificing with all other criteria above creates a decent chance of getting the bow. Save before this happens to give yourself as many chances as you'd like.

Notes[]

  • This weapon cannot be obtained without the Hero committing evil acts.
  • This bow can do more damage per hit than any other weapon without using any augmentations. A hit from Skorm's Bow is far more devastating than a regular hit from any other weapon.
  • Skorm's bow is extremely useful in killing Jack of Blades the first time (you can take him down easily in 4 to 5 shots despite his other attacks) and for enemies like trolls (who only attack you from within a certain range, allowing you to charge up your bow as long as you like). If you're going to try to kill a Succubus nymph, Skorm's bow is also a good idea.
  • If you eat a Moonfish you will instantly flip the clock from day to night. Using a moonfish to go directly to midnight not recommended (see comments in previous section), but to flip the clock to sometime just before midnight is fine.
  • A fully evil Hero can use the follow expression to all the bandits in Twinblade's Camp, then sacrifice them all.
  • Another easy way is to just use "Follow" on hero guild NPCs and lead them to the shrine.
  • If used on one of Skorm's followers, a voice will say, "You misuse my weapon, heretic".
  • The traders at the Darkwood camp are also willing to follow the Hero.
