Renown

Fable Wiki – Your guide to everything Fable.

Renown is what Fable and the people of Albion call Fame. Your renown, along with Alignment, shows how people react to you. The more renown you have, the more people like you and more women will find you attractive. Also higher Renown will grant you access to actions (Such as the Manly Arm Pump expressions).

When obtaining a certain amount of renown points, you may get a new level of fame such as recognized, familiar, popular, legendary, etc. In Fable II, you have different renown levels for different settlements such as Bower Lake, Bowerstone, Oakfield, Fairfax Gardens, Westcliff and Bloodstone. This mean you may be popular in one region and unkown in another.

Certain levels of renown are required to start some quests, particularly in Fable II for main quests such as The Ritual and the The Crucible.

How do I increase Renown?

To increase Renown you can complete quests, show off your trophies (you get more renown if you show more people), have statues of yourself built, kill enemies, win competitions or pay a Bard 10 Gold to sing a song about you. Getting married, having children and buying houses will also help increase your renown, even if you play the Lute you will get some renown and some good points.
