Mystical Murgo is the name of two separate characters in Fable (and The Lost Chapters), and Fable II. In each case, he is a trader who sells the protagonist an item which effectively advances the main plot.

Appearance in Fable

In Fable, Murgo is the trader who sells the Hero of Oakvale a box of chocolates as a gift to his sister, Theresa. He is killed during the subsequent bandit raid, and his grave can be found in the Oakvale memorial garden.

Appearance in Fable II

In Fable II, Murgo is a merchant selling so-called "Old Kingdom Artifacts" in Bowerstone Old Town. Most of his wares can be considered worthless; for example, he is observed selling a mirror which transforms anyone who looks into it into a beauty...but will only function in the dark. He is assumed to be a descendant of the original Murgo.

However, one of his artifacts proves to be more genuine than he suspects; he sells Rose and Sparrow a music box, valued at five gold pieces, which proves instrumental to the main plot. An initially skeptical Rose states that the box is "rubbish", and is immediately corrected by Theresa, who asserts that the seller has "no idea of its true value".

Murgo also sells a thesaurus to Barnum, and is the presumed author of Murgo's Big Book of Trading.

According to Lion Head Studios web page, Murgo will make an appearance in the upcoming DLC.
