Disambiguous This article is about the enemy type in Fable and Fable: The Lost Chapters. For the enemy type in Fable III, see Dark Minion.

Minions are a type of enemy in Fable, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and Fable Anniversary. According to the book "Creatures of Albion Book I," Minions were brutal and merciless killing machines bred by the Old Kingdom Wall-Guards to attack intruders. During the events of Fable, Minions are the demon servants of Jack of Blades, heavily armoured, excellent fighters which are very hard to kill. There are two varieties of Minion, both are vulnerable to fire so the Enflame spell is effective against them.

Wardogs[]

These are the standard type of Minion, with heads that resemble bipedal jackals and hunched backs. They wear rusty brown and red armour, covered with patches and spikes, wielding an orange, long dual-bladed sword. In combat, Wardogs are fast at striking the enemy and excellent blockers.

Dreadwings[]

Dreadwings are Minion spellcasters, wielding staffs that they can use as a bludgeon when under attack at close range, but preferring to attack at a distance with an energy spell. The Dreadwings can also generate a magic cage but this is only seen once and is never done in combat. Dreadwings can also summon Minion reinforcements of any kind, so be sure to take them out first. They have black, silver, and blue armour and a curious helmet with a pointed visor that resembles a beak.

Trivia[]

  • Minions are the strongest enemy type obtainable for the summon spell.
  • After the defeat of Jack of Blades, they can sometimes be found roaming in Witchwood.
  • The Dreadwing helmet resembles the masks historically worn by Plague Doctors.
  • An altered version of the Wardog's weapon can be acquired and wielded if the player has the Creature Weapons and Outfits Pack in Fable Anniversary.
  • The original concept art shows a hybrid of the Wardog and Dreadwing, which were then split into two different subtypes in the released game.
  • The helmet of the Wardog in the concept art is more wolf-like compared to the eventual jackal-shaped helmet that was used in-game.
  • Concept art shows the Wardog dual-wielding two swords, rather than using their signature dual-bladed swords.
