  • Hi, I'm Torionel from FRC. I want to suggest partnership of our two communities and some steps to Fable resurrection. I've created related Forum thread.

  • Can I get some userrights here? I wish to move some images to better names here.

    • Ack, I forgot (again) that movefile is not a permission that all users have. Unfortunately I can't add that permission by itself, and you haven't yet been here long enough to be eligible for the other rights that would come alongside it.

In that case, what I would suggest instead, is if maybe you could just give me a list of images that need to be moved, and what they need to be moved to, and I should be able to run a bot through that list.

      Like this:

      [[frompage]]
      [[topage]]
      [[frompage]]
      [[topage]]

For example, taking this image that WikiaWizard tagged for moving before, that one would be:

      [[File:971431 20100614 790screen006.jpg]]
      [[File:Hero of Brightwall Bowerstone Industrial.jpg]]

      Thanks!

    • ok sure.

I want to note that a good portion of images are of low quality or unused.

        Loading editor
    • This is true. A lot of Fable II images are photos of people's TV screens, and if there's any way we can replace those, that would be great. I should also pay more attention to Special:UnusedImages; some of them can be used, some of them are duplicates, and some are pointless, so it would probably be a good idea if I went through that sometime.

Also it appears that I missed a bunch of images being uploaded a couple of months ago, so I need to find those too and make sure they're added to the Categorization Project.

    • Is there anything specific that I can help with?

  • Hi Enodoc.

Apologies for how long it has taken but I have finally finished clearing out the Fable Series Gallery. This can now be re-purposed or deleted as you see fit.

It took longer than expected as I also tried to ensure that every image I removed from the page was added elsewhere if it was of a high quality or was relevant to an existing article.

Anyway with my exams out of the way once again I should be able to get onto carrying on with the Image Categorization project once more.

Let me know if there is anything else you'd like me to do!

  • The tabs on the Fable III page are a bit messed up. I looked up the solution http://community.wikia.com/wiki/Help_talk:Tabber#Tabber_Issue:_Overlapping

It appears only that an admin can edit this. If you could that would be awesome!

    • Which solution did you prefer out of the three that were there? Of course another alternative would be to not include the LCE box art in the infobox at all, and to put it in the LCE section, which would probably make more sense. --Enodoc(Talk) (User Space) 12:48, July 9, 2017 (UTC)

For me personally, I think this method is best:
      Capture

But as long as the overlapping is gone, I'm ok with any method.

EDIT: Didn't know that was an LCE section! I'll just remove it then.

  • I'm not really sure if it matters all that much, but could you delete this picture?

    http://fable.wikia.com/wiki/File:Fable_II_Box_Art_-HIGH_RES-.jpeg

I uploaded a better quailty photo to the wiki.

  • I got the email saying you changed the Hero of Bower Lake back to the Hero of Bowerstone. I will once again point out that not once during the game is the hero referred to as the Hero of Bowerstone. And it is just a name given by the fans. I understand that it should be included, however, as the real name of the hero is the Hero of Bower Lake as it was given to him by the creators of Fable it should be the main name. Wiki is for informing people and the Wiki is currently giving the wrong information. Everyone I ask says the hero of Bowerstone, and I have to keep reminding them that they are wrong. That is why I changed it. Most people will not want to change it because they have always seen the hero as the Hero of Bowerstone. The wiki is needed to inform the people of the right stuff, not the stuff they want to know.

  • Hello! I'm Wowa, and I'm representing Fandom's Vanguard team. We're users who volunteer to help communities adopt to new technologies and features, like content portability. We've identified your community as a high priority for introducing the Portable Infobox tool, which has a lot of benefits for your community. Rather than get into all of the metrics and numbers (though I can present some of those if you're interested), I'll keep it simple. I'd like upgrade the Infobox templates themselves so that they can be accessible on any current and future platform. Maintaining them if you want to make changes should be very simple.

I've added drafts for all of your current infoboxes which you can modify or approve early if you'd like. I've put the styling here. Here's a full list of all the drafts:

Everything should work properly as set up, so if we don't hear back from you, we'll assume there were no problems and will come back and approve the work as-is on or after March 10.

Also, if you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thanks!

    • Hey,
has the community come to a decision yet?

      Best regards,

    • I agree with Enodoc about us not using Wiki explicit code just for the sake of portability. If it ever becomes clear that tablet and mobile users are having problems, then we could revisit the issue, but at this time I feel we should stick with what we have.

  • Hey there Enodoc.

So as I was making my way through sorting the images on the Wiki I've encountered quite a few "unused" images. Many of these are images of varying content and quality which only appear on the Fable Series Gallery page.

I was wondering if you had any ideas as to what to do with them and how best to categorise these, if at all? I'm kinda at a lost on where to put them haha

    Thanks!

    • Hi Enodoc. Been a little while since starting on the Fable Series Gallery and I've nearly cleared it now.

Just to let you know that Enobot has tagged some images which are protected (Wiki.png is an example).

Not sure what I can do about those but I will leave it with you and let me know what you'd like done with them.

      Thanks!

  • Hi again Enodoc.

So after a little editing and tinkering around I have confused myself.

Looking at the Fable quests the second main quest is listed as Melee Combat Test followed by Guild Training. This is the same order as in the game so no problems there. My confusion arises from the order the events take place and how they are listed on the Wiki.

Firstly, the Demon Door Run quest is available prior to starting Melee Combat Test. After completing this quest the Guildmaster offers you the choice of helping the servants (the Four Apples becomes available) or having an early night where a time skip occurs and Guild Training begins.

The problem is that the Guild Training page states that Childhood training (as well as the 2 side quests) occurs after Melee Combat Test and the time skip but this isn't correct.

It appears to me that this situation has arisen because Childhood training isn't counted as a quest and was therefore the walkthrough was listed under Guild Training despite taking place prior to the time skip.

So to my knowledge the order of events are: Childhood training and Demon Door Run -> Melee Combat Test (and the option of starting Four Apples) -> sleep/time skip -> Guild Training.

Sorry for all the confusing text but it's hard to explain the order in the game and on here. What I'm asking is what do you think is the best way to deal with this?

    Thanks!

    • Just tidied up the Preceding/Succeeding on Guild Training as well, so now I think everything's consistent.
