[edit] Overview
After practicing melee combat, the Guild alarm bell sounds. After some thoughts, the Guildmaster concludes that some Beetles are loose in the Guild Woods. He sends you do deal with the problem.
[edit] Walkthrough
This is the third quest of Fable. You start with the same outfit from last night, any spare gold from purchasing your gift for your sister, and a stick.
[edit] Beetle Bash
Simply run into the Guild Woods and attack the Beetles with your stick. Once all of the insects are dead, exit the woods and chat with the Guildmaster. He offers to put off the next day's activities for some free time.
[edit] Maid's Pie (Optional)
If you choose to put off progressing to the next stage, enter the Servant's Quarters behind the Archery Range and talk to the maid inside. She asks for more Cooking Apples to finish making a Pie for the Guildmaster.
Walk around the training area and pick up at least four of the special Cooking Apples scattered around the training area. Return to the maid for your prize; a nice, tasty Blueberry Pie, the only one in the entire game!
[edit] Scythe and Maze (Optional)
Entering Maze's Tower will reveal a chat between Maze and an ancient Hero, Scythe. Scythe states that he will journey to the Northern Wastes, to guard a 'Oracle', and then vanishes. Maze will explain who and what Scythe is.

After talking to the Guildmaster, you retire for the evening to rest for more training tomorrow.

- It is possible to die while a child; simply stand in the way of one of the Apprentices practicing archery, and after several hits, you will go through the regular death animation.
- Keeping the Cooking Apples until graduation has them mysteriously vanish afterwards, but later on you can sell them and buy them back after you become a real Hero.
- It is not possible to buy or sell anything during your childhood years.
