Old King Oswald was a former king of Albion. He ruled through a peaceful reign, but as he grew older, he became obsessed with someone else's mortality, and then switched to his own. He ordered all his knights out to find the Elixir of Immortality, and not to return without it or else they would be executed. None of them returned, and King Oswald died.

- Vivian Quicksand claimed to have found the Elixir in her book, Alchemy and Immortality (which is a book on the rare book list, found in Bowerstone Castle in the royal chambers) but she lost it.
