James is a character in Fable III who says that he dropped his engagement ring down the sewer in the quest One Ring to Find. He asks the hero to go and find it for him. After you find it and return it to him, he starts to question why he should get married and states that he no longer wants to get married and goes to tell his fiancée, Sonya, he wants to break up.
The full conversation after you give him the ring is as follows:
"You got my ring back! Thank you, it must be divine intervention that brought you here!" (James being happy)
"Then again, that means it was divine intervention that I lost the ring to begin with. I can't only credit the good stuff, right?" (James starting to feel doubtful)
"That means it was divine intervention that made me get an ulcer, not get any sleep for a week and nearly cost me the woman I love! In a universe that's at best apathetic and at worst actively sadistic, what possible reason could there be to get married?!" (James feeling hopeless/annoyed/irritated)
"...I hope I kept the receipt for this..." (James giving up on the thought of marriage).
