[edit] Greatwood Regions
Encompasses the entirety of Greatwood Lake, Greatwood Gorge, Orchard Farm, and a small cottage that is home to a Master fisher. Annual Fishing Contests are hosted by the Master Fisher with varying prizes from Silver Keys to rewards of a more valuable nature (Only available in Fable: TLC).
Greatwood serves as a connection point between Lookout Point and Darkwood, as well as branching off into several smaller areas. Though initially inactive there is a Cullis Gate located in the area that can be used by the Hero for ease of travel to and from the area. Though frequently used by traveling Merchants, the are is infected with numerous swarms of Beetles and Wasps as well as the occasional Bandit Camp.
Towards the center of the area is a large Bandit camp. Originally established to operate an illegal toll on the nearby bridge, the camp later abandoned this practice after losing several guards and toll men in a battle with The Hero of Oakvale who had the choice of paying the toll or slaughtering the bandits. Whether or not he killed them, they inevitably came to strife after a shortage of gold on the hero.

[edit] Fable II
As time passed from the events of Fable Greatwood evolved into the Brightwood we know and love. It slowly changed from a smallish area with few noteworthy features into a sprawling landscape of golden leaves and sneaky Bandits. Gone are the small winding rivers, replaced by a grandiose lake with a magnificent tower perched on its shore. In that tower resides possibly the greatest Will user seen during this period in history, Garth of Samarkand. Also occupying its own little corner of the wood was Orchard Farm, which has gone the way of fishing, and in its place stands Giles and his small but respectable farm.
Brightwood is also rumored to contain several lost ruins, some of which may hold the key to the mysterious deaths happening around the world. It is also rumored that somewhere deep in the woods rests the powerful Katana Daichi. The sword waits according to legend, for one destined to take it up and shed the blood of their enemies.
It is likely that this is a different part of Greatwood as it does not contain the Hobbe Caves and realistically caves can exist for centuries. It was said that Fable II was to contain an additional part of Greatwood which could have meant Brightwood was likely formed from Greatwood.
