Hey I have been thinking about the origin of the Crawler, and here are my theories; 1-the Crawler is a creature from The Void(NOT JACK) 2- The Crawler is Skorm, absolutely devastated that no one worships him anymore(we know he exists because of the voice heard in his Chapel), and it fits considering his dark powers, or 3- He is AVO! Also devastated that no one believes in him, and by all the evil in the world, he has gone mad and believes the only way to set things right is to destroy all he believes to be impure and evil. I doubt it would be Avo or Skorm due to them being confirmed false gods by the Oracle in TLC. Personally I think the Crawler is a manifestation of the fears of every living being in the world, the strongest being the fear of the dark.--Alpha Lycos 04:19, December 22, 2011 (UTC)

I've put together a theory based on the following facts. The Crawler's wanted to destroy Albion for centuries. It's known to be able to possess people and its Children are very reminiscent of the Shadows from Fable 2. Cornelius Grim turns himself into a Shadow to fight the Hero in Fable 2, 50 years before the events of Fable 3. Grim, upon transforming, states he has "become Shadow. I am your god. I am the bringer of darkness." A mere Shadow? Not likely. Therefore, I think Grim may have summoned the Crawler (whether deliberately or not) into him. Once Grim is killed, the Crawler simply left his body and laid low for some time, (possibly taking refuge in the crumbling Temple of Shadows, but later fleeing to a cave near Aurora) and built its strength and power, as well as its ability to create more of itself, its Children. 50 years is nothing if it has waited centuries. The Crawler could certainly have come from the Void, but summoned to Albion by Grim, thus providing safe passage to the land. If this is true, then killing Walter at the end of Fable 3 did not destroy the Crawler, but merely defeated it, forcing it to begin rebuliding armies or even changing tactics as a new means of taking over Albion, setting up the darkness referred to as the Corruption in Fable: the Journey. AlphaLycos- Well whos to say the Oracle is right? All we know is that Scythe says its smart, and maybe its creator didnt want the world to believe in them. Just a thought.
