Solcius was a great mage who destroyed the portal that threatened to engulf Bowerstone. By doing so he took his own life. At the end of Fable if the hero chooses to throw away the Sword of Aeons, he is judged by three of the greatest heroes ever. Solcius was one of the three. You can see three statues outside MazeĀ“s quarters, that resembles the three heroes, including Solcius. The statue of Solcius is wearing what seems to be a mage's robe and an apprentice hood.

It is most likely Solcius' voice that can be heard while acquiring Avo's Tear since it was Solcius who powered it.

Epigraphy[]

Here are buried the remains of Solcius, the legendary mage who sacrificed his own life while performing his greatest spell, closing a vortex that threatened to engulf Bowerstone.

Trivia[]

  • Even though the tomb plaque clearly states that Solcius sacrificed his own life to close a vortex, when walking past his tomb, Whisper will say "They say this Hero was killed by a dragon."
  • According to co-creator of Fable, Dene Carter: The reason for the inconsistency with Whisper's Dialogue and the plaques for the Heroes Tomb is because the writers and the artists didn't work together when producing assets for the game.
  • Early trailers for Fable (also known as Project Ego) showed the Hero of Oakvale watching Bowerstone be engulfed by a large bright light. It's possible this was intended to be a part of the story, but was instead changed to be the backstory for a deceased Hero.
