The Black family are an archon family of immensely powerful mystical warriors, who originated William Black, the progenitor of the Black bloodline; who became the first archon after defeating the Court. The most powerful of mystical warriors hail from this bloodline; as some of these heroes are able to learn all the three disciplines of Strength, Skill and Will.

- While he is a part of the modern Archon Bloodline, Brom doesn't count as a Hero. Since he was born outside of the family, before he married Scarlet Robe.
- Since they are a part of the Archon Bloodline, it is possible that characters such as Theresa, Rose and Logan are also capable of learning the three Hero disciplines. But outside of Theresa explaining her backstory, there is no way to tell for sure.
- As time goes on, the Archon Bloodline is further dilluted by the addition of other family members who the Heroes end up marrying. This means that the power of Will and the ability to learn the Hero Disciplines becomes less common in the world of Albion.
- Co-Creator Dene Carter confirmed that an unused note named Mother's Note is a tiny detail that was meant to be in the final game, but they never had the time to see it through. The note suggests that the Old Adventurer is Scarlet Robe's brother.
