In-Game Short Description[]

Crimson listened as the doctor gravely pronounced her grandmother's death, citing the likely cause as a combination of old age and massive wolf related Injurles. She pulled the red hood tighter and wondered why she felt so uncomfortably full...

In-Game Long Description[]

It was frankly a miracle that Crimson survived. She was found huddled in the corner of her grandma's cottage, scared and unable to remember a thing. Grandma's bones had been picked clean and left in a heap by the fireplace.

After that night, there were six more tragic disappearances'. The villagers caught on eventually, of course. It was the little red hood wrapped around the 9-foot tall balverine that gave it away.

With torches and pitchforks, they chased Crimson out of the village and into the dark refuge of the forest. There, mother nature embraced and protected the young girl. But the terrible hunger has been building in her again, and she is struggling to keep control of her deadly urges..

Background[]

Young Crimson listened as the village doctor gravely pronounced her grandmother’s death, citing the likely cause as a combination of old-age and massive wolf-related injuries leaving nothing but a picked clean pile of bones.

It was frankly a miracle Crimson survived. They’d found her huddled in the corner of the ruined cottage, wrapped in her favourite red hooded cloak, so traumatized by the incident that she couldn’t remember a single thing about the attack – only that now she was uncomfortably full...

The villagers caught on eventually of course, it only took six more tragic disappearances and the unfortunate lynching of 'Hairy' Johnson the Tanner before someone recognised the little red hood wrapped around the 9-foot slavering Balverine tormenting the village.

Never ones to pass up an opportunity to crack out the torches and pitchforks, Crimson was chased into the deep dark and dangerous forest surrounding the village – and the forest, recognizing the young shapeshifter as one of its own, embraced and protected her.

But now a terrible hunger is building, and Crimson is struggling to keep control...

Crimson's Heroic Tale[]

Chapter 1: Unlikely Protector[]

Exiled from Oakfield and wracked with bloodthirsty urges, Crimson wanders the forest in despair. But she’s being watched – a swift shadow; a blur of white through the trees.

On the outskirts, she stumbles across a Hobbe encampment. If she can defeat these evil creatures, perhaps the villagers will see that she can help to protect them? She gathers her strenght and moves to attack...

Chapter 2: Oakfield Ingrates[]

Instead of thanking Crimson for dispatching the Hobbes and protecting Oakfield, the villagers grab their pitchforks and chase her back into the forest. ‘We don’t want you here, beast!’ they shout. ‘You or the other one!’

‘You don’t understand’, says Crimson. ‘I was trying to protect you!’ But her pleas are ignored. Fearing for her life, she is forced to turn on the very people she was trying to protect.

Chapter 3:  Hired Help[]

Humiliated, the surviving villagers limp away from the exhausted, blood-soaked Crimson.

‘Just you wait’, someone shouts through the trees. ‘My uncle’s cousin is a famous monster killer!’

A few days later, true to their world, a cocky hunter and his two assistants arrive in Oakfield, only too happy to pit their wits against a real balverine. They lay the bait in a nearby graveyard, and Crimson can’t help but investigate...

Chapter 4: Bloodsport[]

The monster hunter begs for his life as Crimson closes to deliver the final blow. But before she cans trike, there’s a CRACK! Thick ropes fly from the darkness and bind het to the ground.

The hunter’s assistants emerge from the trees, holding the ends of the net. Their boss gets to his feet and dusts himself off, looking down at the furious, captive Crimson with a smile.

‘Just in time, lads. She’s no White Balverine, but she’ll fetch a fine price in the arena...’

Chapter 5: Hunting The Hunter[]

The crowd roars with a mixture of delight and horror. The cruel arena masters threw everything they could at Crimson, but to no avail.

Yet there’s one more challenge to come. The monster hunter that brought her here leaps into the arena with a snarl. His scars have barely healed since their last encounter.

‘You’re full of surprises, balverine’, he says. ‘But this time you won’t be so lucky...’

Chapter 6: Leader Of The Pack[]

Free at last from her hunter, but still imprisoned by her curse, Crimson returns to the forest. But she arrives to find her old home of Oakfield has been ravaged. Among the flames and the carnage, she finds strands of white hair. The white balverine was here.

With the last ties to her past in shreds, Crimson rushes into the forest with a deafening howl to face the beast within and take her place on nature's throne...
