Back to the Salt Mines is a recurring side quest in the City of Aurora in Fable III. It is unlocked after you complete the main quest, but only if you decide to mine Aurora for its resources. The mine owner asks you to find a "volunteer" to work in the mines. The quest can be used to help your hero gain money, but its main purpose is in fulfilling augment requirements found on certain legendary weapons.

Walkthrough[]

Talk to the highlighted supervisor near the entrance to the mines to start this quest. Leave the enclosure and look for a suitable candidate; they cannot be people already working in the mines, so those that are factory workers or miners won't be accepted. There should however be some unemployed villagers you can recruit near the town square. Simply grab one by the hand and drag them back to the supervisor to receive your reward.

Description[]

Find a 'volunteer' and put them to work in the Auroran mine.

Conclusion[]

That's another worker for the mines. And more money for you!

Reward[]

  • Between 1000 and 6000 gold, based on the social class of the citizen.
    • Beggar: 1500 gold
    • Auroran: 3000 gold
  • Morality −10

Trivia[]

  • The name of this quest is a reference to the English language idiom or expression "Back to the salt mines", which is commonly used to refer to undertaking or resuming an unpleasant task.
